Building on the foundation that began in our children’s ministry, our youth ministry seeks to train and develop godly teenagers who grow to be godly adults who hunger for the Word of God. Our youth ministry is for kids in 6th-12th grade.
We are all about edification and discipleship. Our youth come expecting to study the Word of God, not just to hang out with their friends. We are so thankful that our teenagers want to engage deeply in God’s Word. Our Sunday night youth meetings, Sunday morning Sunday School, service projects, fellowship, and missions opportunities all provide the teenagers with great opportunities for discipleship and fellowship.
On Sunday evenings, our youth meet for a time of Bible study and fellowship! Studies in the past have included:
Books of the Bible
Books from great Christian authors, such as David Platt, Lee Strobel, and Kyle Idleman
Our youth dig deep into God’s Word. Our desire for our youth is for their faith to have deep roots. As Colossians 2:6-7 says “Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”
While our youth engage in deep studies of God’s Word, there are also fellowship opportunities for them throughout the year. Whether it be fellowshipping at a youth members’ house, or going on outings like rock climbing, whitewater rafting, or laser tag, our group really enjoys spending time with one another. We have also attended discipleship retreats and conferences to places like Cary, NC; Epsom, NC; Garden City, SC; and Gatlinburg, TN.
Spreading pine needles, collecting shoes, yard work, and making Valentine cards are just a few ways that our youth serve our community. Our youth are passionate about serving others.
Every four years, our high schoolers have the opportunity to go on an international mission trip. We have taken our youth to Honduras and Taiwan to serve, minister, and share the Gospel with the people there. Missions is so important to Green Meadows that, as a church, we want our high schoolers to be able to participate in the work God is doing in our world. The church graciously helps pay for part of the mission trip expense to make it more accessible for our students to go. This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity for our students!
